Are you more into glamorous neo soul, offbeat rock or eclectic electro? We’ve got you covered with both already established artists and rising stars. In this top of the best new songs of this month, the gifted pop soul king Victor Solf rubs shoulders with the creative Billie Eilish and authentic Girl in Red. Let’s dive into those powerful new songs and albums of April 2021 together.
New Albums April 2021
Victor Solf – Still. There’s Hope
It is with his head held high that the modern soul man Victor Solf presents his debut solo album, Still. There’s Hope, on April 30th. Through these 12 songs in which he constantly questions his environment, such as utopia, love, fear of failure or of missing out, Victor offers us a faithful reflection of today’s society. He is constantly reinventing himself to find where he fits best and how he could best give justice to his emotions and translate them into songs.
With this new album, Victor Solf revives our hopes for the future. And that’s exactly what we all need in those uncertain times. Yes, we’re all doubting, reinventing yourselves and our futures. He draws a line between his present and his past by dedicating songs to his loved ones, far or close. The piano also is the main instrument of all his songs, and it’s a winning bet!

Girl in Red – If I Could Make It Go Quiet
Girl in Red’s debut album lives up to everyone’s expectations. It the perfect bedroom pop album to accompany us in our moments of introspection, doubt, love, and all kinds of moods we can feel at the moment. As she did in her first singles like we fell in love in october or i wanna be your girlfriend, she emphasizes mental health and love in all her songs. The production is very well done and her voice takes us in a new universe. The least we can say is that she set the bar (very) high for a first opus!
- Genre : Bedroom Pop
- Album mood : falling in love and being confident is nowhere near easy but trying is mandatory
- Favourite tracks : Serotonin, Body & Mind, Rue
- Release date : 30/04/2021
New Songs April 2021
Billie Eilish – Your Power
If you’re a man, you can’t imagine what women go through in their everyday’s lives. At 19, Billie managed to put it into words in a specular and empowering way for women to regain enough confidence to say no. No to abuse, no to sexual predator behaviour.
It’s an open letter for people that takes advantage of their position of power to get things out of underage people against their consent. The message of this song is so important that we almost forget how the song sounds, but it’s actually a nice soft ballad, that Billie and her brother and producer FINNEAS got us used to.
- Genre : Pop
- Song mood : don’t let anyone cross your own borders, regardless who they are.
- Release date : 29/04/2021
Twenty One Pilots – Shy Away
Electrifying drum chords, a voice tone recognizable among a thousand : the famous duo Twenty One Pilots struck again! Behind the rhythmic production of Shy Away, what really makes the difference is the positive and comforting message of encouragement of the song.
Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun try their hardest to convince you not to be shy about your dreams because you’ve only got one life. Chase your dreams and ditch the shyness that stops you from growing into the person you want to be. Shy Away definitely is one of the best new songs of the month.
- Genres : Alternative Rock, Pop Rock
- Song mood : your life is yours to be defined so don’t waste your time
- Release date : 30/04/2021
Wolf Alice – Smile
Just like Girl in Red, Ellie Rowsell, the lead singer of Wolf Alice, is among the 18 best female indie artists that can’t go unnoticed. Their new single is a perfect preview from their upcoming album : it’s a stellar mix of verses whispered from the lips and choruses sung as if her life depends on it. Wolf Alice offered us a golden track and we’re not surprised!
- Genre : Alternative Rock
- Song mood : be who you want to be and that’s all that matters
- Release date : 21/04/2021
ØDYSSEE & Dave Kellner – Breach
Ødyssee songs are the perfect chillhop background for when you need to focus on work or when you’re just vibing, in your living room or at a party! Breach is a feel good punchy sound that is part of a collaborative record between record labels based in Los Angeles and Lyon.

Alan Walker & Au/Ra – Dead Girl! (Shake My Head)
Alan Walker and Au/Ra new single came out on April 2nd and it’s enchanting and hypnotizing electropop bop we’ve all been waiting for. It’s dark both lyrically and melodically, but haunting and beautiful at the same time. Among the new songs of the month, I would say Dead Girl it’s the most addictive one because you just can’t not shake your head when it comes on shuffle.
- Genre : Pop, Electro

Laurel – You’re the One
Laurel had already started a new era in the way she produces music with Scream Drive Faster, which has well earned its place in the best songs of 2020, and she seems to be going in the same direction with her new song You’re the One. You can feel her inimitable class in her 80s’ way of singing. A winning bet from the rising star of East London!
